Bears Don’t Like Cheese
Bears Don’t Like Cheese
You know how when you go camping or hiking at a national park, you are told not to leave food around because it may attract bears? Well apparently the warnings need a disclosure that says “Da Bears Don’t Like Cheese”. I’m only saying this because as any Packer Backer at Franklin Family Entertainment Center will tell you, Da Bears did not touch the Cheeseheads on Sunday’s football season opener.
And speaking of Green Bay and Franklin Lanes, if you are a fan of the Packers, you gotta join the Nashville Packer Backers. Each time Green Bay plays, whether it’s a pre-season, regular season, playoff or Super Bowl game (yeah, I’m assuming they’ll go already :-), the Packer Backers meet up at J’s Sports Grill in Franklin, TN (located inside Franklin Family Entertainment Center, home to the area’s best bowling alley).
Probably the best deal in town, for only $20 you can become a member of the Packer Backers and receive a free long-sleeve shirt to wear and show off your cheesehead pride (personally, I would totally wear a cool shirt over a cheese shaped hat…just sayin’…don’t take offense).
But the fun doesn’t stop with just watching the game and sporting a cool shirt; several pre-game tailgating parties have been planned throughout the football season as well as tons of other fun activities and raffle giveaways. Great food like brats and the best homemade chili ever is served by J’s Sports Grill at these events. And of course, there is a full bar, including non-alcoholic beverages and beer…come on, Green Bay is in Wisconsin, you gotta like beer with your brats!
Hey one more thing before I forget. As with other years, the Packer Backers have been able to watch the game on one of several televisions (one being freakishly huge) inside the bowling alley’s bar and grill. This year, however, it will be even better (I bet you didn’t think that was possible). No, we are not sending ya’ll to Green Bay free of charge for a game (if we did that, membership would have to cost a little more than twenty bucks). Jay, the owner of J’s Sports Grill just hung up another large tv for you to enjoy the game on…we’re talking 9’ x 12’, baby. I bet your television at home isn’t that big.
Okay, you are still probably basking in the glory of your victory over Chicago, so I’ll let you be. Just remember…Packer Fans…J’s Sports Grill inside the bowling alley…every game on BIG TVs.
