Cosmic Kids…does it remind you of The Jetsons cartoon? And what was the premise of The Jetsons? A family (George, Boy Elroy, Jane his wife, daughter Judy) who lives in the future, where robots (Rosie the Maid) were the norm, spaceships zoomed around leaving a trail of colorful lights behind, and lasers were used. I bet there is a video game like that out there right now.
And if there is a video game, I bet your children own it, because what’s more cool than futuristic stuff with cosmic lights? Well since you asked, Franklin Family Fun Center in Franklin, TN has an answer for you…an answer that will get your kids off that cosmic video game (Well, for three hours anyway.). How would you like to start off your weekend doing something fun as a family? (Note: The adults doing something in a room separate from the kids who are in another room playing video games is NOT family fun.)
Well it just so happens that Franklin Family Entertainment Center has started offering their Cosmic Bowling during a time that is a little more kid friendly, unlike the late night cosmic bowling hours that adults enjoy. From 3pm – 6pm on Friday afternoons, it may be light outside, but inside Franklin Lanes the lights are dimmed and the cosmic light show is rockin’ in the bowling alley.
Bowling under cosmic lights is out of this world and your kids will love it. First of all, with the lights out, the lanes glow in the dark (I mean, you still gotta see where you are rolling the ball, right?) Now add laser lights, disco lights, black lights, and Runway lights programmed to swirl all around you and the rest of the bowling alley…all to the beat of music. Trust me, it’s wicked cool.
Hey, here’s an idea…when your kids get home from school on Friday, tell them to put on a white shirt and prepare to be dazzled. They’ll be like, “Oh man, I gotta change my clothes? Why?” in a whiney voice. Then they arrive at the bowling alley and their tune changes to, “Saweet! Check out my shirt. It looks purple.”
Plus, great music (all the hits kids enjoy listening to these days) is pumping out of the overhead speakers. Your heart will not only be pumping from the excitement of challenging your family members to a few frames of bowling, but also from the loud music that is sure to get you pumped up for a weekend full of family fun. (FYI, don’t get too excited and break out your dance moves in front of your kids…I’m told it really embarrasses them 🙂
Okay, so what is all this going to cost you? In a nutshell, much less than taking the family to the movies, an amusement park, or any other family entertainment venue. For only $39.99 your family can have exclusive use of a bowling lane for three whole hours and because Franklin Lanes is feeling generous, they’ll even throw in the bowling shoe rental for each person in your group. This is an especially good deal if you have four or more people. Otherwise, if there are just a couple of you, the price is $9.99/person. I defy you to find another family activity that only averages $3 per hour.
Oh, one more quick item to mention…if your children are anything like mine, then the second they walk through the door after school, they ask, “Mom, what’s for an after-school snack?” Once again, Franklin Family Fun Center has got you covered. If you visit their website at www.franklinfec.com, you’ll see a link called “Snack Bar”. Click on it and you’ll notice they offer tons of food items your kids would love to eat for their after-school snack.
We Hope to See You this Friday at Franklin Family Entertainment Center in Franklin, TN for 3 Hours of Family Friendly COSMIC BOWLING From 3-6pm
